From the writer of Bucket Boy and Apple Face comes a thrilling new indie comedy. WOLF BISCUIT will premiere at The Outlore Base from 14 to 18 October 2025.

Written and directed by Pierre Malherbe, WOLF BISCUIT is an absurdist two-hander bro-mantic comedy-drama starring Andrew Roux and Brett Williams. Roux and Williams play work colleagues trying to survive in a literal cut-throat industry and navigate their love/hate relationship. These intrepid characters will take you on a surreal journey through betrayal, deception, and different-sized coffee mugs.
If you’ve ever put a shoe in a post box, spilled beer on a Labrador, or placed a baguette in a car boot in Kraaifontein, then WOLF BISCUIT is the life-altering show you’ve been waiting for.
Malherbe’s darkly comedic production toys with the fragility of uneasy companionship, balancing the mundane and the menacing, pulling the audience into a bizarre and unpredictable world for an experience that is as unsettling as it is hilarious.

“I first started writing this play during the covid lockdown”, says Malherbe, “thinking that I would probably play one of the characters myself, but the more I wrote, the more I just kept seeing Andrew and Brett in the roles, and so of course I was ecstatic when they both agreed to do it. They have such natural chemistry on stage and play off each other beautifully. They’re also very, very, funny. They’re like the comic duo you never realized you were missing in your life!”
WOLF BISCUIT will also be Malherbe’s first foray into directing a theatre piece entirely on his own, having only co-directed a play in the past. He says: “‘Directing’ has slowly crept into my bucket list over the years, and since I wasn’t going to be acting in this one, I thought it might be the perfect opportunity to direct. It’s been exciting, challenging, exhausting and fun.”
Adrian Collins, who directed Malherbe’s two previous plays, has also joined the WOLF BISCUIT team, as a production designer.

“I still wanted Adrian involved, even though he wasn’t directing”, says Malherbe. “He brings a very special kind of magic to everything he touches; and since he was director and designer for my last play, Bucket Boy, it made logical sense to bring him on as the designer for WOLF BISCUIT.”
There seems to be some mystery as to what WOLF BISCUIT is really all about, but maybe that’s the way it’s supposed to be. As Malherbe himself says: “The wolf in the forest might actually be a malamute.”
WOLF BISCUIT will be onstage at The Outlore Base from 14 to 18 October 2025. It carries an age restriction of 18 years old. Tickets are available online through Quicket, from R150 per person. The show has a runtime of 70 minutes.
