The multi-award-winning singer, songwriter and theatre music director Ntsika Fana Ngxanga, better known to his 61.4k Instagram fans, quite simply as Ntsika, is founder of Nomadic Tribe Entertainment and a lead composer and member of the internationally acclaimed acapella group, The Soil. In March 2019, he released his long-awaited debut solo album, ‘I write what I dream’, after he had been gifted songs through a series of visitations and dreams from his great, great grandfather. The album, which debuted at No.12 on ITunes, was described by journalists as “a spiritual, cross generational and timeless body of work that’s truly reflective of the strong and rich African musical heritage that the continent has always possessed.

Some of Ntsika’s highlights since the release of ‘I write what I dream’ album include, performing at the 2019 Presidential Inauguration, the Hugh Masekela Commemoration and headlining the 2019 Cape Town International Jazz Festival.

His nominations include: SATMA (South African Traditional Music Awards, 2019); SAAFMA (South African Afro Music Awards, 2020); two SAMAs (South African Music Awards, 2020) and two SAAFMAs, 2021). ‘I write what I dream’ has been touring all around the country since it’s 2019 debut.

In November last year, to herald in the summer, The Baxter launched its critically successful series of outdoor concerts, Sun-Set@Baxter, in the newly landscaped garden. The series kicked off with Majozi, on 28 November 2021, followed in 2022 by Zolani Mahola, The One Who Sings, on 30 January, Matthew Mole on 27 February and Cape Town Opera on 27 March.

This spectacular lineup of top South African artists performing on The Baxter’s lawns has been the perfect summer experience for the entire family to enjoy. Audiences are encouraged to bring along their picnic baskets and blankets, while enjoying sensational music. Only alcohol purchased from The Baxter’s bar will be permitted.

Performances will be regulated by lockdown regulations at the time, with all COVID-19 protocols in place and to be observed. Audience members are advised to arrive early to avoid delays.

Tickets for Sun-Set@Baxter with Ntsika, on Sunday, 24 April 2022, are R195 throughout. Patrons can purchase picnic baskets with various options when purchasing tickets at an additional cost.

Doors open at 5pm and the performance starts at 6pm. Booking is through Webtickets online at www.webtickets.co.za or Pick n Pay stores.
