Absinthe isn’t just a show; it’s an experience, created by The Outlore Production Company in collaboration with Siren Studios. Set to premiere at The Outlore Base (80 Hout Street Cape Town CBD) on 29, 30, 31 August 2024.
The Outlore is an immersive theater company that has been setting the stage on fire since its inception. Founded by the visionary duo of choreographer and creative director Liam Gillespie, and the multi-talented director, writer, and creative force Kimberley Buckle, this dynamic team has been pushing the boundaries of live performance. Since joining forces in 2020, they’ve revolutionized Cape Town’s theater scene, bringing the city its first-ever immersive experiences. From the enchanting May I Have This Dance in 2021 to the spine-chilling The Curse Of Camp Hell Fire (2021, 2023), the incredible production of Xcode (2023) and the thought-provoking Fragments (2022, 2024), The Outlore has consistently delivered groundbreaking productions that leave audiences spellbound.They opened The Outlore Base, a venue that quickly became Cape Town’s beating heart of immersive theater, one of the few spaces where such boundary-pushing performances come to life.
This year, The Outlore made waves internationally, making their debut on the world stage when they were invited to create and produce a series of stunning shows for MSC’s 2024 World Cruise. In 2022, they opened The Outlore Base, a venue that quickly became Cape Town’s beating heart of immersive theater, one of the few spaces where such boundary-pushing performances come to life.
But they’re not stopping there. Drawing on their wealth of experience and relentless innovation, with Absinthe The Outlore is set to unveil a cabaret like no other. To elevate this show to even greater heights, they’ve teamed up with the extraordinary Siren Studios, founded by the award-winning aerial arts maestro, Leda Botha. Leda and her study is consistently pushing the boundaries of Ariel arts in Cape Town, has since won multiple artistic pole, exotic pole and lyra championship titles. Leda is a multi-faceted performer and choreographer, best known for combining beastly strength moves with sensual flexy tricks to create powerful routines. She has performed both locally and internationally and lives for the stage. Leda and her team of breathtaking aerial artists are poised to light up the stage, adding a dazzling and unique flair to this one-of-a-kind cabaret experience.
