HEAT Festival
The HEAT Winter Arts Festival is set to return to Cape Town’s city centre to support art businesses during the winter season.
The 2025 edition will take place from 6 to 16 August 2025 and will feature artworks, exhibitions, and performances centered around the theme "Other Worlding." This theme embraces the speculative turn in cultural production, serving as an empowering tool for artists to envision the world in new ways.
“Other Worlding” celebrates the transformative power of art and artists' capacity to reimagine the past and the future, challenging societal norms to open pathways to alternative narratives.
A highlight of the HEAT Festival 2025 will be digital art, a genre that aligns perfectly with the festival's speculative theme. Digital artists are at the forefront of pushing the boundaries of reality, making their work essential to the exploration of 'Other Worlding.'
