Johannesburg-born, Cape Town-based stand-up comedian Eureka Nkese is bringing the funny to local audiences this year, with his brand new comedy special: Man’s 2 Funny.
This natural storyteller and funny man is set to tour Cape Town and Johannesburg this March and April, proving to audiences why he is one of SA’s funniest acts to watch this year.
A seasoned performer, Nkese’s style of comedy is described as topical and observational, poking fun at everyday life with jokes that everyone from all walks of life can relate to.
Nkese is excited to finally debut material for his latest comedy offering in The Mother City – a place he has called home for the past two years.
“Man’s 2 Funny is a truly and proudly South African stand-up comedy special. The jokes and observations will have South Africans and foreigners laughing while thinking: ‘Wow! That is so true’,” shares Nkese.
The show will take place over three nights at Alexander Bar Café and Theatre from 29-31 March before it “heads home’ to Johannesburg fans, with a performance taking place on Freedom Day (27 April) at The Joburg Theatre.
All the proceeds of his show on the 30th March show in Cape Town will benefit the Saartjie Baartman Centre for Women and Children in Athlone.
“Without our women and children the world has no hope of a future. It is important for me to support organisations that protect and support our most vulnerable in society. We need to be better to our women and this is my way of trying.”
For Nkese, who was recently nominated for a South African Comics’ Choice award, it’s his third comedy special to tour around the country the show will deliver hilarious punchlines and an insightful view of South African culture.
