It’s time for the craziness and creativity of Cape Town’s best loved improvisers’ magical Improv Fest. Now in its 4th year, the week long ImproGuise Improv festival is fast becoming an institution, carving out its special place in the theatre and comedy calendar of Cape Town.
This year ImproGuise presents audience favourites, as well as extreme and outrageous new formats and every night. You may well want to come to more than one of these totally made up, hilarious and unexpected hour long performances.
Here is the comprehensive list of what you can expect every night.
Monday 14th – Theatresports - Our usual and hugely popular short form, improv show with an emcee, judges from the audience and 2 teams competing in a series of games with suggestions from the audience.
Tuesday 15 – Documentary - The improvisers’ skills are stretched to their limits as they concoct a completely made up full length documentary in front of the audience.
Wed 16 - Naked Improv - Stripped down to its bare minimum. Improv from nothing. PG 18
Thurs 17 - South African Soap Opera – A few suggestions from the audience will help create a brand new, never seen before soap opera. Be careful. This one is addictive.
Friday 18 – Superscene - One of our audience favourites, 6 improvising directors compete against each other for the last one standing in Superscene.
Sat 19 March 11am - Pop-up Tales- Improvised Interactive storytelling for kids, where they get to choose the Who, what and where of their own adventure!
