The team of GANARAMA Productions that brought you a few incarnations of the acclaimed sketch comedy, “Let’s Mix It” is preparing a brand new show for the Artscape Arena from November 2 to 7, 2015.
The show, titled “Let’s Mix It: The Best of & More” will feature the inimitable duo of Gary Naidoo and Liandé Valentyn, with Valentyn playing the role of Hadji Fatgiyah Bardien, the chatty talk show hostess who broadcasts her talk show from the lounge of her Walmer Estate home.
This time she has four “interviewees” (all played by Naidoo) who are literally a mixed bag – from local ex-Miss Gay South Africa, and researcher on Hadji’s show, Felicity Mybergh, real name Faizel Mybergh (who has delusions of hosting her own talk show one day) to larger-than-life former Zumo wrestler (the female version of Sumo wrestling), Sisanda Gugushe who is always willing to share her weight loss tips with audiences, even though she weighs in at 124kg. Also in the line-up is pint-sized North Korean Masterchef, Pi-On-Mi who is here to promote his new dumpling balls.
The show has some of the best moments of past shows as well as brand new material, like on-screen home-brewed adverts and a new character or two that Hadji Fatgiyah will be hosting on her hilarious comedy of errors. Throw in funnyman Wayne Mckay and the stage is set for another laugh-a-minute romp.
“Let’s Mix It: The Best of & More” is written by Rafiek Mammon & Gary Naidoo, and is directed by Mammon.
